The daughter of God falls from the Heavens to experience life as a human and eventually finds that humans are to be pitied because life is suffering. A Dream Play, by August Strindberg, was the playwright’s attempt to create the experience of a dream in theatrical form. Things are one thing, yet another, there’s suddenly a baby, but no pregnancy. Much of the play is spent outside an opera house, but without much of a logical reason for being there. To this end, I imagine the physical impact of the Daughter causing an enormous crater, in which odd things occur. Actors mysteriously appear from inside the crater, props which are thrown inside multiply rapidly, et cetera. Any props that are needed fall from above, as if from God. Theoretical project, 2007.
