The CalArts Fashion Show is an event held each Spring as a collaborative effort between the different schools and produced by the Student Council. The Fashion Show makes up the main portion of the event, with choreographed dances and performances throughout. Once the Show itself is over, the Main Gallery, where it’s held, becomes a dance club. The theme in 2009 was “Evolut!on”, following the fashion from prehistoric cave-man-inspired clothing through to the post-apocalyptic ending. The set attempted to create an environment inspired by nature and looking towards destruction.
